Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. When she was a kid she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. At the age of six, Emma realized she was going to become an actor and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. As part of a school production and an Stagecoach show, she took as the lead role at age 10 and performed. In 1999 casting began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight consecutive auditions. Emma's screen debut came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in the year 2001. The movie set records on its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the top-grossing 2001 film. Reviewers were awed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in the Film.
